George's Marvellous Medicine - Roald Dahl

This is the book Mami read to us last month. It is hilarious! Highly recommended. We really enjoyed it. So much that we asked Mami to read another book by Roald Dahl: Danny, the Champion of the World.

Este es el libro que Mami nos leyó el mes pasado. ¡Es desternillante! Altamente recomendado. Nos ha encantado. Tanto que le pedimos a Mami que nos leyera otro libro de Roald Dahl: Danny, el Campeón del Mundo.

Birthday Sleepover - Noche de Cumpleaños

For my 8th birthday I wanted some friends to stay the night and Mum +Dad agreed. It was really good fun! Early evening we all (7) went to see the animals (snakes, doggies, lizards, tortoises, carolina birds...) and when it got dark we got our torches and went outside to play hide and seek. Then we were called in to wash and have supper: pizzas, salad and fruit. We went to bed -girls in one bedroom, boys in mine - and we talked and told games until 12.00 pm when Daddy turned off the lights and said that it was time to sleep. In the morning, after breakfast, washing faces + getting dressed, Mum put some facial make-up on our faces, then she made some playdough and we all played with it. Late morning my friends' parents came to collect their kids. It was over but I (Rowan) felt happy.

Para mi 8º cumpleaños quise que mis amigos se quedaran a pasar la noche y Mami + Daddy dijeron que sí. ¡Fue muy divertido! Por la tarde fuimos todos a ver los animales (serpientes, perros, lagartos, tortugas, pájaros carolina...) y cuando se hizo denoche salimos con linternas a jugar al escondite. Entonces nos llamaron para lavarnos y cenar: pizzas, ensalada y fruta. Nos fuimos a la cama - niñas en un dormitorio, niños en el mío) y charramos y contamos chistes hasta las 12.00 pm cuando Daddy nos apagó la luz y dijo que era hora de dormir. Por la mañana, despues de desayunar, lavarnos y vestirnos, Mami nos maquilló y preparó pasta de sal con la que todos jugamos. A última hora de la mañana los padres de mis amigos vinieron a recogerlos. Se acabó pero yo (Rowan) estaba felíz.

We got very good presents at Xmas though not everything we wanted. It was great! We must have been fairly good.

Recibimos regalos muy buenos en Navidad aunque no todo lo que pedimos. Fue genial! Hemos debido de ser bastante buenos.

Carnaval March 2011

Mum often makes our faces up. It's fun! She also makes our fancy dresses: this time I dressed up us a clown and my brother as Mario Bros. Our little sister wanted to be a Kitty Cat but then she changed her mind and dressed up as Tinkerbell (aunty Charlotte bought her the outfit).

Mami a menudo nos maquilla. ¡Es divertido! También nos hace disfraces: esta vez yo me disfracé de payaso y mi hermano de Mario Bros. Nuestra hermanita quiso ir de gatita pero luego cambió de opinión y se disfrazó de Campanilla (el hada de Peter Pan - la tieta Charlotte le compró el disfraz).

Summer Fun - Diversión veraniega

We enjoy playing together, Bomfire night, our pool, playing with Mum whe she's up to it... This summer we also went to uncle Jose's 'Mas Ombravella', his Catalonian farmhouse, while Mum was in hospital again.

Nos gusta jugar juntos, la noche de Sant Joan, nuestra piscina, jugar con Mami cuando se encuentra algo mejor... Este verano también fuimos a casa del tiet Jose 'Mas Ombravella', su masía, mientras Mami estaba en el hospital otra vez.

Puppies - Cachorros

Our puppies: I got a golden labrador called Ash thanks to my aunty Anna and Rowan got Festa thanks to our uncle Jose. They are lovely puppies and we are very happy with them!

Nuestros cachorros: tengo un labrador blanco gracias a mi tieta Anna, se llama Ash y Rowan tiene a Festa gracias a nuestro tiet Jose. Son unos cachorros adorables y estamos muy contentos con ellos!

The teepee - La tipi

You all know that our mami is a bit 'nutty'. Well... Tired of our complaints for not having a treehouse in our garden yet, she decided to build us a teepee, a North-American Indian tent. The most surprising was that uncle David and aunty Esther joined in diligently as soon as mami texted them 'mayday mayday'. Wow! We were most impressed! We love it! We just hope our teepee will stand the ghastly wind we sometimes get up here! Otherwise, I'm afraid, it'll be 'gone with the wind'.

Todos sabéis que nuestra mami esta algo 'sonada'. Bueno... Cansada de nuestras quejas por no tener aún una casa-del-árbol en el jardín, decidió contruirnos una tipi, una tienda india. Lo más sorprendente es que Tiet David y Tieta Esther se apuntaron con premura tan pronto como mami les envió un sms 'mayday mayday'. Wow! Estamos impresionados! Nos encanta! Tan sólo esperamos que nuestra tipi soporte los vendavales que a veces soplan por aquí arriba! De lo contrario, me temo, que será 'lo que el viento se llevó'.
